Brookeborough Carol Service 2011
On Friday night December 16th 2011 St. Mary’s Catholic Church hosted a cross community carol service. After many weeks of planning the night was a great success with most faith communities from the area represented. We wish to thank Fr. Dolan for his support in allowing the event to take place and his cheerful approach to it, Also Rev Ronnie Bourke who travelled from Riverstown in Sligo to represent the Riverstown Church of Ireland Community. Without naming anyone else (for fear of leaving anyone out), We also wish to thank the Choir & Musicians those who worked with them, Those who helped prepare the church and get and erect the christmas tree, The Parish Pastoral Council for their help in planning the evening and for their work in preparing St. Mary’s School Hall for the refeshments afterwards. Thanks also to those who made sandwiches and cakes.
Our Hope is that a tradition can be started where the different Christian Faith Groups from the area can join together each Christmas to celebrate the common bond shared by us all Christmas.
Thank you again one and all.

Richard Moore Talk Well Received
On Wednesday & Thursday last we had the Privilege of a visit from Richard Moore to both Brookeborough & Riverstown.
Richard told his story from blindness to insight and how forgiveness has played such a big role in his life.
The talks were well attended with approx 35 at both talks.
In the afternoon Richard visited Coola Secondary School in Sligo where he told his story to a very receptive audience and amazed them with his iphone and computer gadgets that help him in his day to day life.
Richards talk was both inspiring and challenging with most of those attending saying it was one that would stay with them for a long time to come.
